Excellent doctoral research!


Dr Philipp Rausch, associated Cluster member and postdoc in the “Evolutionary Genomics” research group at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Biology in Plön (MPI EB), received the Otto Hahn Medal, awarded by the Max Planck Society. This prize honors the outstanding scientific achievements of young scientists, usually as part of their doctoral theses. Rausch is being honored for his work into the influence of blood-type similar antigens and inflammatory diseases on microbial intestinal communities.

The scientist received his award on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at the general meeting of the Max Planck Society in Weimar. As from September 2017, Philipp Rausch will be researching in the laboratory of Professor Karsten Kristiansen at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark.
