Start of the popgen 2.0-Network
1. July 2011. The Federal Ministry of Education and Science (BMBF) has announced to support the popgen 2.0-Network with more than 4 million Euros. Popgen 2.0 will connect different biobanks in Schleswig-Holstein. In the next years local biobanks from the Institutes of Pharmacolog, Pathology, Pediatrics, Human Genetics, Neuro surgery and the Cancer Center North and Lung Center North will be combined in a common infrastructure. The project will be coordinated by Prof. Dr. Ute Nöthlings Leader of the Section Epidemiology of the Institute of Experimental Medicine at Kiel University and Prof. Dr. Michael Krawczak, Director of the Institute of Medical Informatics and Statistics at Kiel University
