Research Areas

In the light of the scientific finding of the 1st Funding Period of the Cluster with its huge number of identified disease genes, the linear research approach from genes to structures, evolutionary and functional annotation into patients has been restructured. The new structure reflects a more dynamic and competitive research process that fosters interdisciplinary projects.

The interdisciplinary, interactive approach is based on two different structures working closely together.

Research Areas (RA I-VII) are thematically defined scientific frameworks that support, promote and enhance scientific interactions around structured topics varying from Genetics and Epigenetics through Lipidomics, Cellular Immunregulation to Environmental Exposition of Barriers and Translation into Individual Patient Care.
